Now we have a new claim: certain bottled water can act as an anti-aging product. The product is Penta Water, a premium bottled water from Carlsbad, CA. Now I have a healthy skepticism about bottled water, and a real aversion to cluttering our landfills with more plastic bottles. But --this water seems to be the fountain of youth. The Penta company has done a study that proves its water has anti-aging capabilities, at least for the skin.

"The study, conducted by world renowned dermatologist Dr. Jean Krutmann and the Environmental Health Research Institute showed that human skin cells cultured in Penta water had significantly less damage from ultraviolet radiation than skin cells cultured in plain water. This lends itself to the belief that Penta water may have anti-oxidative and anti-aging effects. To further validate the claim that Penta may act as an antioxidant or may facilitate antioxidant activity, Penta has commissioned The University of California, Davis to carry out additional studies regarding the hydration characteristics, antioxidant characteristics and anti-aging characteristics of Penta water."

Well, I'd be also wondering whether all water contains those qualities, especially since as we have learned recently, much of our tap water contains minute amounts of many different pharmaceuticals and supplements.

In addition, our experts feel that for the skin, anyway, hydration comes from oils, rather than from water.
