How To Use The Aloe Vera Plant
Aloe vera is a plant that grows in the desert. Its leaves are succulent and the pulp within has been prized by legendary beauties as far back as Queen Cleopatra.
Every hospital should have aloe vera plants in the burn ward. It is excellent for treating burns. Every kitchen should have that hardy plant. You don't need to live in a desert to grow that cactus. It thrives virtually anywhere, preferably in the sun.
Aloe vera has a way of healing the skin beautifully. It treats everything from burns to pimples. Here's how to use the plant:
- Slice open a large, succulent leaf with a clean knife.
- Scrape out the transparent pulp inside the leaf. That is the useful part you use on the skin. Keep that in a clean bowl
- Avoid the yellow or brown liquid that would seep out from just beneath the green rind. That stuff really irritates the skin.
- Apply the clear gel over the skin that you want to treat.
- If you are worried about the irritant effects of the yellow liquid that accidentally got into the gel, heat the gel in a pot to deactivate the irritant. Add water to the gel to dilute it if you want it to go further.
